Janis Dunson Wilson is a published composer (ASCAP), choral and
theater conductor, pianist, organist, and educator. She is
experienced in writing, arranging, teaching, and performing in a
variety of musical styles, with areas of concentration in musical
theater, opera, and film scoring, and in sacred choral, children’s
organ, harpsichord, and electronic music.


Janis Dunson Wilson's Publications include My Backyard - A
musical education series to help teachers present nature lessons to
students in kindergarten through second grade, published by Interact;
Seasons Come to the Forest - a work for organ and narrator, Walking
in the Light of Christ
– a hymnal of thirty-five original hymn tunes, and
selected hymn tune arrangements featured in The Keyboard
Companion - all published by Wayne Leupold Editions; Etain - one
movement fantasy for flute and harpsichord, available on CD Runes
at www.tncmusic.net.


Janis Dunson Wilson’s education includes Bachelor’s and Master’s
Degrees in Composition from the University of Houston. She did
postgraduate work in music composition at the University of Southern
California, with additional areas of concentration in orchestration,
conducting, organ performance, and liturgical music. Janis studied
with Robert Linn and Morten Lauridsen at University of Southern
California; and with Michael Horvit and Carlisle Floyd at the University
of Houston.
